    MON AROME CHERI candle is a candle maker based in Miyazaki, Japan. Its O-kome collection begins with rice bran, a by-product of rice milling, from which the candle wax is derived. The choice gives a familiar agricultural material a lasting role beyond the kitchen.

    The Sakura edition interprets cherry blossom through fragrance. Together with the vessel’s bamboo motif and patterned packaging, it draws on familiar Japanese forms without needing an elaborate setting.

    The design continues that story in a vessel inspired by bamboo and a presentation box patterned after Japanese kimono textiles. Material, fragrance and presentation work together, making the candle as pleasing to give as it is to keep. The O-kome Candle collection received a Gold Award in the 2025 Omotenashi Selection.
