Return & Exchange Policy
At MyJapaneseWorld.com, we take great pride in curating handcrafted Japanese goods that reflect centuries of tradition, regional expertise, and artistic intention. Each item is carefully inspected before shipment to ensure it arrives in pristine condition.
Because many of our pieces are artisan-made in small batches and limited quantities, we kindly ask you to consider your purchase with care. These items are not mass-produced, and each piece carries its own story and natural variation.
Return Eligibility
We accept return requests within 30 days of delivery, provided the item meets the following conditions:
- The product is unused, unwashed, and in original condition
- All original packaging, tags, protective wrapping, and branded boxes are included
- A valid receipt or proof of purchase is provided
- The return is initiated and approved in advance via our customer service team
To request a return, please email support@myjapaneseworld.com with your order number, full name, and reason for return.
If your request is approved, we will issue a return authorization and detailed shipping instructions. Items returned without prior approval will not be accepted or refunded.
Please note: Return shipping costs are the customer's responsibility. We also recommend insured, trackable shipping, as we cannot be responsible for items lost or damaged in transit.
Non-Returnable Items
Due to the handcrafted and delicate nature of our products, we cannot accept returns on the following:
- Used, altered, or washed items
- Items without original packaging or protective materials
- Sale items, discounted products, or gift cards
- Any item returned more than 30 days after delivery
Damaged or Incorrect Orders
Please inspect your order upon delivery. If your item arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, contact us within 7 days of receipt so we can evaluate the issue and arrange a resolution.
To initiate a damage claim, please email us at support@myjapaneseworld.com with:
- Your order number and full name
- Clear photos of the item and its packaging
- A short explanation of the issue
Please wait for return instructions before sending anything back. Items shipped without prior authorization will not be accepted.
For EU Customers: 14-Day Cooling-Off Period
If your order was delivered within the European Union, you may return items for any reason within 14 days of delivery, in accordance with consumer rights law. Products must remain unused, with all original packaging and tags intact.
Import Duties & Refused Deliveries
Import duties and taxes are the buyer's responsibility. If charges are refused and the parcel is returned to us, we cannot issue a refund. Please check your local import regulations before placing an order.
Refunds
Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you of the outcome. If approved, a refund will be issued to your original payment method within 10 business days. Please note that your bank or credit card provider may require additional time to process the refund.
