  • Depending on your location, you can generally expect to receive your order within 5-7 business days.
  • Shipping times provided are estimates and may vary based on the destination. While many shipments arrive faster than expected, there are instances where the process may take longer due to factors such as customs clearance, weather conditions, or local postal delays. Please keep in mind that customs procedures, in particular, can sometimes cause unexpected delays, especially for international shipments. Can I return my order and get a refund?

You can receive a full refund on your order within 30 days of purchase, providing that you need to cover the shipping costs for the return. To initiate a return or for any assistance, simply reach out to us at support@myjapaneseworld.com, and our team will be happy to assist you with the process.

Can I cancel or modify an order?

Once your order is placed, it is processed immediately to ensure swift delivery. As a result, we are unable to modify or cancel orders once they have been confirmed. Please double-check your order carefully before completing your purchase to ensure everything is correct. Thank you for your understanding!

Can I track my order?

Yes! As soon as your order ships, you’ll receive an email with a tracking number and link. You can check the status at any time.

I made a mistake in my shipping address—what should I do?

Please email us immediately at help@myjapaneseworld.com with your order number and the correct address. If the order hasn’t shipped yet, we’ll update it right away.

Will I need to pay customs duties or taxes?

For most international orders, customs fees or import taxes may apply depending on your country’s regulations. These charges are the customer's responsibility and are not included in our pricing. Please note that we will not issue a refund if customs duties are not paid and the product is returned to us as unclaimed.

Special Note for U.S. Customers

In the United States, prices on our website are listed on a Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) basis. This means that, under current regulations, all customs duties, taxes, and clearance fees are already included in the price you see at checkout. You will not be asked to pay additional import fees upon delivery.

As customs regulations are evolving rapidly, if any unexpected additional duties or fees are requested by the courier at delivery, we will reimburse you for the difference upon presentation of the official receipt.

What should I do if my order arrives damaged?

We take great care in packaging, but if your item arrives damaged, please contact us within 7 days with a photo of the product and packaging. We’ll arrange a replacement or refund as quickly as possible.

My order hasn’t arrived yet—what should I do?

If your tracking shows a delay or you haven’t received your order after the estimated timeframe, please reach out to us and we’ll help investigate with the shipping provider.

Are all your products made from natural materials?

Absolutely. We prioritize natural, sustainable materials such as cypress wood, clay, bamboo, cotton, and iron—selected for their quality, durability, and authenticity.

Why do some items look slightly different from the photos?

Each piece is made by hand, so natural variations in color, grain, or shape are part of their charm. These differences are not flaws—they’re a sign of true craftsmanship and what makes each item one of a kind.

How should I care for artisan wood, ceramic, or iron items?

Each product comes with specific care instructions to help you enjoy it for years to come. Generally, we recommend gentle handwashing, avoiding dishwashers or microwaves (for ceramic and wooden items), and storing in a dry place. Care guides are included on each product page.

Do the products come with boxes or packaging?

Many of our items come in beautiful traditional packaging, including wooden gift boxes or washi wrapping, making them perfect for gifting. You’ll find packaging details listed on each product page.

Where are the products sourced from in Japan?

Our items come from across Japan—from the forests of Gifu to the kilns of Arita and the ironworks of Tsubame. Each region has its own rich cultural tradition, and we carefully curate items that reflect their local character and excellence.
